Getting started
Install YourTracking on your Shopify storeGuideGetting startedWhat you need, the four Shopify steps, and what comes after them.
Four steps in Shopify, then one page for each ad channel. To start, you only need your store's .myshopify.com address and a name for it.
What you need
Your store's Shopify address, the one that ends in .myshopify.com (for example my-store.myshopify.com), and a name for the store. Your website address, currency and time zone come from Shopify by themselves when you install the app. If you start from the Shopify App Store, the address is already filled in.
To find the address, open your Shopify admin, then Settings and Domains. Shopify gave your store this address when you signed up, and you keep it, even when shoppers use your own domain.

Owners and second owners can connect channels and change settings. On a step only an owner can do, a teammate with another role sees the note An owner does this.
The four Shopify steps
In the appStores›Add a store
- Add your store. Enter its name and address. Then make three choices: what we do when a visitor rejects your cookie banner, whether your sales count with or without tax, and whether orders you create yourself in Shopify go to your ad channels as a sale. Which cookie choice fits.
- Install the app. Approve YourTracking in your Shopify admin.
- Switch on the app in your theme. Press Open theme editor: your theme editor opens with YourTracking switched on. Press Save.
- Finish in Shopify. Add the YourTracking Enhancer in Shopify's Customer events. It takes about two minutes. How to add it.
Source: Shopify Help Center, Extend your theme with apps
The theme step and the Enhancer step turn done by themselves: we check your live theme and your store, so there is nothing to confirm. Tracking starts once the needed steps are done; there is no button to go live.
Each row on your store's Connectors & settings tab shows where it stands, such as Connect, 1 step left, Needs you or Sending.
Orders from draft
These are orders you create yourself in Shopify, such as replacements, refunds or cash on delivery. You choose which of them go to your ad channels as a sale:
- Send when the customer paid more than a percentage of the price that you type, from 1 to 99. This is the recommended choice: a free replacement, which the customer did not pay for, is not sent.
- Send all: every order from draft is sent.
- Don't send: none is sent.
You can change it later on your store's Connectors & settings tab; a change applies to orders placed after you save. More about orders from draft.
Then connect your ad channels
Connect Google Ads, Meta and Pinterest, each on its own page on your store's Connectors & settings tab, in any order, and Klaviyo if you use it. Each one starts once Shopify is connected.
Using Google Ads? First create a passkey (a way to sign in to Google without a password) in the Google account you use with Google Ads. Google can make a new passkey wait up to 7 days before it lets you connect, and that wait runs while you finish Shopify.

Good to know
You do not paste code into your theme
The Shopify app brings our tracking with it, and you switch it on with one switch under App embeds. The Enhancer's code goes into Shopify's Customer events, never into your theme.
You can stop halfway
Every step you finish is saved. On Stores, a store that is not finished shows Finish setup, which opens its next step.
Your store still has a password page
You can finish the setup now; tracking starts when your store opens to visitors. To let us check your setup before then, enter your storefront password on your store's Shopify page in YourTracking. It is the password under Online Store, Preferences in Shopify, not your Shopify login.
Source: Shopify Help Center, Restrict access to your online store
You change your theme later
Shopify keeps app embeds for each theme separately, and apps are off by default in a theme you change to. Check that YourTracking is switched on in the new theme. If it is off, we email you, and your store's page shows Needs you until it is on.

You already use another tracking app
For Google Ads you can leave it running at first. For Meta and Pinterest, switch it off when you connect. The guides above say how.

How soon after I install will I see numbers?Getting started
Your past orders fill in by themselves after you install, so your dashboard has data from the start. Once your setup is done, each new order shows within minutes of being placed, with where it came from. In Google Ads itself, the first sales arrive once Google accepts them, about 6 hours after you connect Google, and each day's numbers there fill in over the next day or two.

What do I need to add a store?Getting started
Two things: your store's Shopify address, the one that ends in .myshopify.com (for example my-store.myshopify.com), and a name for the store. Your website address, currency and time zone come from Shopify by themselves when you install the app. If you start from the Shopify App Store, the address is already filled in.

Where do I find my .myshopify.com address?Getting started
In your Shopify admin, open Settings, then Domains. The address that ends in .myshopify.com is the one Shopify gave your store when you signed up. You keep it, even when shoppers use your own domain. When you add a store in YourTracking, Where do I find my .myshopify address? shows a drawing of that page.
Can I connect Google Ads, Meta and Pinterest to one store?Getting started
Yes. Each ad channel has its own page on your store's Connectors & settings tab. Connect them in any order; each one starts once Shopify is connected.

Does YourTracking work with TikTok?Getting started
YourTracking sends your sales to Google Ads, Meta and Pinterest. TikTok is not one of them, so keep TikTok's own tracking for your TikTok ads. Your dashboard still shows the sales that came from TikTok: a sale from a TikTok ad counts under Other ad clicks, and one from a TikTok post that was not an ad under Social, in No ad click, by source.
Can I connect Google Ads, Meta and Pinterest to one store? What do No ad click and Direct mean on my orders?
Can I add more than one store to my account?Getting started
Yes, add as many as you like to your organization (your business's account in YourTracking). Open Stores and press Add a store. Each store has its own connections, settings and page, and All stores shows them together. Each store has its own price: $25 a month for each of your first four stores, and $15 from the fifth.

I already use another tracking app, tag or pixel. What should I do?Getting started
For Google Ads, you can leave it running for now, also an old Google Ads tag or Shopify's Google & YouTube app. We add our conversion action as Secondary (Google records it but does not bid on it), so no sale counts twice there. When you are ready, Make Primary now on the Google Ads page in YourTracking lets Google bid on ours and moves the others to Secondary, so you do not have to remove them. For Meta and Pinterest, switch the other tracking off when you connect, such as a Meta pixel or the data sharing of Shopify's Facebook & Instagram app, or they can count each sale twice.
Do I have to switch off my other Meta tracking?Should I make YourTracking Primary in Google Ads?
Do orders I create myself in Shopify count as sales?Getting started
You choose. Orders you create yourself in Shopify (orders from draft), such as replacements, refunds or cash on delivery, go to your ad channels as a sale only as your Orders from draft setting says. You choose it when you add a store, and you can change it later on your store's Connectors & settings tab. A change applies to orders placed after you save.
- Send when the customer paid more than a percentage of the price that you type in, from 1 to 99. This is the recommended choice: a free replacement, which the customer did not pay for, stays out. Keep the percentage above your average cost of goods, so you never send an order you lose money on.
- Send all: every order from draft is sent, replacements too.
- Don't send: no order from draft is sent.

Can I stop halfway and finish later?Getting started
Yes. Every step you finish is saved, so you can pause and come back at any time. On Stores, a store that is not finished shows Finish setup, which opens its next step. When you add a store, a setup you started also shows under Continue a setup.

Price, free trial and cancelling
Price, free trial and cancellingGuidePrice, free trial and cancellingWhat a store costs, how the 14-day free trial works, and how cancelling works.
$25 a store a month for your first four stores and $15 from the fifth, with 1,000 orders a month included in every store. The first 14 days are free.
What a store costs
Each store costs $25 a month for your first four stores and $15 a month from the fifth store on, in US dollars. Every store includes 1,000 orders a month. Above that, each store pays per order:
| Orders in a month, per store | Price per order |
|---|---|
| First 1,000 | Free |
| 1,001 to 6,000 | $0.0125 |
| Above 6,000 | $0.0075 |
One store with 10,000 orders in a month pays $117.50 for that month: $25, plus 5,000 orders at $0.0125, plus 4,000 at $0.0075. Six stores with up to 1,000 orders each pay $130 a month: four at $25 and two at $15.
The YourTracking app in Shopify is free: Shopify never bills you for it. What you pay for is the YourTracking service for each store you connect.
The free trial
Your organization starts with a 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged during it, and the orders tracked during it are never billed. You can start without a card.
To keep tracking after the trial, an owner adds a card on the Billing tab of the Account page: your first bill is then charged when the trial ends. If no card is saved by then, tracking stops and you owe nothing. We email you before your trial ends.
Each store you add later also gets 14 days free, unless it was connected to YourTracking before. Section 8 of the Terms has every detail.
Cancelling
You cancel by closing your organization: an owner opens Account, Organizations and presses Close it. Then you choose: keep tracking until your next billing day (or the end of your free trial), or stop everything now. When tracking stops, your data is deleted. If a bill is unpaid, pay it first; then you can close.
Cancelling during your free trial costs nothing. The one exception is a store that was connected to YourTracking before, by you or anyone else: it has no free trial, so it is billed from the day it was connected again. Store fees already paid are not refunded, unless the law requires it.
To stop one store and keep the others, remove that store.

How much does YourTracking cost?Price, free trial and cancelling
$25 a month for each of your first four stores, and $15 a month for each store from the fifth, in US dollars. Every store includes 1,000 orders a month. Above that, each extra order costs a little: $0.0125 each for orders 1,001 to 6,000, and $0.0075 each above 6,000. So a store with 10,000 orders in a month pays $117.50 for that month. The YourTracking app in Shopify itself is free: Shopify never bills you for it.

Add or replace the YourTracking EnhancerGuideShopify and your themeThe last Shopify step: one custom pixel in Shopify's Customer events, added once or replacing an older one.
The last Shopify step adds one custom pixel (a small piece of our code) in Shopify's Customer events. It takes about two minutes.
Add it
In the appStores›your store›Connectors & settings›Shopify›Finish in Shopify
- Press Open Customer events. In Shopify it is under Settings, Customer events.
- Add a custom pixel and name it YourTracking Enhancer.
- In its Customer privacy section, set Permission and Data sale as the step shows.
- Delete the example code, paste ours with Copy code, then press Save and Connect.
- Press Check now in YourTracking: your store opens in a new tab, and the step turns done within seconds. There is nothing to confirm.

If your store has a password page, enter the password in that tab first.
If a setting in Shopify is not what the step asks, the step says which one and what to change it to.
Replace an older YourTracking pixel
If your store has an earlier version of our code, the same step says This store has an older YourTracking pixel. Replace it with the new code below. The store's Shopify row shows 1 step left until it is done.
- Press Open Customer events, then open Custom pixels.
- Find the custom pixel the step names; our earlier code was named YourTracking. Open its menu, press Delete, then Delete again. Or open it and replace its code with ours.
- Add the new code as above: a custom pixel named YourTracking Enhancer, its two settings, Copy code, Save and Connect.
Source: Shopify Help Center, Manage your custom pixels
Until the old pixel is gone, the step stays open with The old pixel is still active. Delete it in Customer events. It turns done by itself once your store runs only the new code.

Do I have to paste a tracking code or pixel into my theme?Shopify and your theme
No. The Shopify app brings our tracking code with it: you switch it on in your theme with one switch under App embeds (the switches for apps in your theme). The only code you paste is the YourTracking Enhancer, and it goes into Shopify's Customer events, never into your theme.
Will YourTracking slow down my store?Shopify and your theme
It is built not to. The tracking code that comes with the app loads in the background, so your pages show without waiting for it. The YourTracking Enhancer runs in Shopify's Customer events, not in your theme, and you add no code to your theme yourself.
I changed my Shopify theme. Do I need to do anything?Shopify and your theme
Yes: check that YourTracking is switched on in the new theme. Shopify keeps app embeds (the switches for apps in a theme) for each theme separately, and apps are off by default in a theme you change to. If ours is off, we email you right away, and your store's page shows Needs you until it is on.

Google Ads
Connect Google AdsGuideGoogle AdsCreate a passkey first, sign in, pick the account, accept Google's customer data terms, and choose when YourTracking leads your bidding.
A passkey in your Google account, one Google sign-in, one Google Ads account for each store, and one thing only you can do in Google Ads: accept Google's customer data terms.
Before you start: a passkey
Create a passkey (a way to sign in to Google without a password) in the Google account you use with Google Ads. Google asks for it when you connect, and it can make a new passkey wait up to 7 days before it lets you connect. So set it up first: the wait then runs while you finish the rest of your setup.

Connect in five steps
In the appStores›your store›Connectors & settings›Google Ads
- Google Ads passkey ready? Press Yes once that Google account has a passkey. Not yet? Open in Google opens Google's page to make one, and Copy link copies its address.
- Sign in with the Google account you use with Google Ads, not a personal one. You sign in once, in Google's own window. Google shows boxes to tick: tick every one. If one is left unticked, nothing is connected and the page asks you to sign in again.
- Your account. Pick the Google Ads account that runs this store's ads. Not sure which? Google Ads shows your customer ID (the account's number) in the top right corner; find the same number in the list. An account that is not active in Google Ads cannot be connected.
- Accept Google's customer data terms in your Google Ads account, then press Done on the Google Ads page in YourTracking.
- Adding your conversion goals in Google Ads. We do this for you.

One Google Ads account works for one store; otherwise the sales of both stores land in the same conversion action (the goal Google counts your sales in). To use an account on another store, disconnect Google there first.
Google's customer data terms
They are Google's own terms, and only you can accept them, in your Google Ads account. In the settings of the Goals menu, under Customer data terms, tick I have read and accept the terms on behalf of my company and confirm.
The Google Ads page in YourTracking names each click, and its Open Google Ads button takes you straight there. If Google first asks which account, pick the one our page names.

What we add to your Google Ads account
Conversion actions, the goals Google counts your sales in: our purchase action, YourTracking - Purchase, which your sales go into, and a few more next to it. We add all of them as Secondary. Google shows a Secondary action under All conversions, but does not bid on it unless you add it to a custom goal. So your bidding does not change until you choose.
Source: Google Ads Help, About primary and secondary conversion actions
We also switch on auto-tagging (a Google Ads setting) once. If you switch it off later, we leave it off.
Source: Google Ads Help, About auto-tagging
A new conversion action needs about 6 hours before Google accepts sales into it, and the Google Ads page in YourTracking counts down to that moment. Sales from before then are sent once it opens, so nothing is missed and there is nothing to do.
Source: Google Ads API documentation, Troubleshooting (conversions)
Make YourTracking Primary when you are ready
That is your choice. Primary means Google uses the action to steer your bidding. Make Primary now on the Google Ads page in YourTracking makes our purchase action Primary, and moves any other Primary purchase goal to Secondary, so no sale is counted twice. Before anything changes, it shows what will move.
Already use another tracking app? Leave it running until then: our action sits next to it as Secondary, and Google's Conversions column counts only Primary actions, so nothing counts twice there.
Source: Google Ads Help, About primary and secondary conversion actions
Change, reconnect or disconnect
In the step Your account, press Change next to your Google Ads account. You sign in again and pick another account; the store stays on the current one until you pick a new one.
Manage, at the bottom of the Google Ads page, holds Test connection and Disconnect. To disconnect, press Disconnect, tick the box and press Disconnect Google. Your sales then stop going to Google for this store. Your conversion actions stay in your Google Ads account, so a reconnect uses them again.
If the Google Ads row of your store says Reconnect, Google no longer accepts the sign-in we hold for your account. Sign in once more with the same Google account; the orders that waited are sent after that.
If it says Allow reporting access, sign in once more with the same Google account and keep every box ticked, so your dashboard can read your Google numbers.

Do I need a passkey for Google Ads?Google Ads
Yes. A passkey is a way to sign in to Google without a password, with your phone or computer instead. Google asks for one in the Google account you use with Google Ads when you connect. Google can make a new passkey wait up to 7 days before it lets you connect, so create yours on Google's passkey page before you start. The passkey is only for Google: you sign in to YourTracking itself with your email and password.
I lost the phone with my Google passkey. Does Google Ads stop?Google Ads
No. Your connection keeps working: Google asks for the passkey when you sign in, not to receive your sales. Make a new passkey in your Google account on your new phone or computer, on Google's passkey page. Do it before you next sign in to Google from YourTracking, such as for Reconnect or Change: Google can make a new passkey wait up to 7 days. Your login to YourTracking itself does not use this passkey.

Which Google account do I sign in with?Google Ads
The Google account you use with Google Ads, not a personal one. You sign in once, in Google's own window. Google shows boxes to tick: tick every one. If a box is left unticked, nothing is connected and the page asks you to sign in again. If your agency runs your ads from an MCC (Google's account that holds other ad accounts), you can also sign in with a Google account that has access to it: the list then shows the ad accounts in it, and you pick this store's own account. The MCC itself is not listed.

Why do I have to accept Google's customer data terms?Google Ads
They are Google's own terms, and only you can accept them, in your Google Ads account. Google Ads says Misconfigured or that my website is missing a Google tag. What do I do?Google Ads
Nothing. Google Ads shows this until your first sale reaches Google, and then it updates by itself. Until then, the Purchase goal with our action, YourTracking - Purchase, can say Misconfigured, a campaign can say Eligible (Misconfigured), and Google may say Your website is missing a Google tag with a Troubleshoot link. That is because we send your sales to Google from our server, so Google finds no tag of ours on your website. Do not add a Google tag and do not change the action.
How soon does Google Ads accept my sales?Google Ads
About 6 hours after a new conversion action (the goal Google counts your sales in) is made. The Google Ads page in YourTracking counts down to that moment. Sales from before then are sent once it opens, so nothing is missed and there is nothing to do.
What does YourTracking add to my Google Ads account?Google Ads
Conversion actions, the goals Google counts your sales in: our purchase action, YourTracking - Purchase, which your sales go into, and a few more next to it. We add all of them as Secondary. Google shows a Secondary action under All conversions, but does not bid on it unless you add it to a custom goal. So your bidding does not change until you choose. We also switch on auto-tagging (a Google Ads setting) once; if you switch it off later, we leave it off.
Should I make YourTracking Primary in Google Ads?Google Ads
That is your choice. Primary means Google uses the action to steer your bidding. Make Primary now on the Google Ads page in YourTracking makes our purchase action, YourTracking - Purchase, Primary, and moves any other Primary purchase goal to Secondary, so no sale is counted twice. Before anything changes, it shows what will move.

Can two stores share one Google Ads account?Google Ads
No. One Google Ads account works for one store; otherwise the sales of both stores land in the same conversion action (the goal Google counts your sales in). Pick another account, or first disconnect Google on the other store. You can sign in with the same Google account for both stores: only the Google Ads account must be each store's own.

Your dashboard reads your Google numbers through the same Google sign-in. If the Google Ads row says Allow reporting access, sign in once more with the same Google account and keep every box ticked. Your Google numbers fill in after that.

How do I switch to another Google Ads account, or disconnect Google?Google Ads
To switch: on the Google Ads page in YourTracking, press Change next to your account in the step Your account. You sign in again and pick another account; the store stays on the current one until you pick a new one. To disconnect: open Manage at the bottom of the page, press Disconnect, tick the box and press Disconnect Google. This stops sending your sales to Google for this store. Your conversion actions stay in your Google Ads account, so a reconnect uses them again.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Connect Meta (Facebook and Instagram)GuideMeta (Facebook and Instagram)Paste your Dataset ID and an access token, switch off your other Meta tracking, and test the connection.
Two things from Meta Events Manager, your other Meta tracking switched off, and a test you can run yourself.
What you need
Your Dataset ID and an Access token (a long code that lets us send your sales to that dataset), both from your dataset in Meta Events Manager. YourTracking sends your sales through Meta's Conversions API, so there is nothing else to set up on Meta's side.
Connect in three steps
- In Meta Events Manager, open your dataset and its Settings tab. The Meta page in YourTracking has links to Events Manager and to your dataset's settings.
- Press Generate access token and copy the token.
- On your store's Connectors & settings tab in YourTracking, open Meta. In the step Connect your dataset, paste your Dataset ID and the token and press Connect. We check them with Meta right away.

Switch off any other Meta tracking
Meta's own help says that when the same sale is sent from two places, Meta needs a way to tell whether it is one sale or two. Two tools that each send your sales are two such places, so Meta can count each sale twice. Switch these off when you connect:
- Data sharing in Shopify's Facebook & Instagram app. In Shopify: Sales channels, Facebook & Instagram, Settings, Data sharing settings.
- Any other app that sends your sales to Meta.
- A Meta pixel you added to your store yourself.
- Meta tracking inside an outside checkout.
Sources: Meta for Developers, Handling duplicate Pixel and Conversions API events; Shopify Help Center, Facebook data sharing
Then tick the box on the Meta page in YourTracking and press Confirm. Meta receives your sales as soon as it is connected, once Shopify is connected too. We do not wait for your tick, so switch the others off at the same time.
Check that Meta receives your sales
Open Manage on the Meta page and press Test connection. We send Meta a test event and show its answer there, such as Test sent: Meta accepted it.
Good to know
Your Meta page keeps your Dataset ID with Change next to it, and your token, never shown, with Replace. If Meta ever stops accepting your token, the page says so: make a new one and press Replace.
If Meta will not connect, the page says what Meta answered. Most often the Dataset ID and the token come from different datasets: make a new token in that dataset's Settings tab. Each store needs its own dataset, and your store needs its own domain, not only its .myshopify.com address.
Your agency can make the token for you, if it can open your dataset's Settings in Events Manager, and send it to you with the Dataset ID. Or make your agency a Second owner in YourTracking, so it can connect Meta itself. Can my agency connect Meta for me?
To disconnect, open Manage on the Meta page, press Disconnect, tick the box and press Disconnect Meta. Your sales stop going to Meta for this store until you connect again, and your settings are kept.

How do I connect Meta (Facebook and Instagram)?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
With two things from your dataset in Meta Events Manager: its Dataset ID (your Meta pixel's ID) and an Access token (a long code that lets us send your sales to that dataset). Paste both in the step Connect your dataset on your store's Meta page in YourTracking and press Connect. We check them with Meta right away. The step has links to Events Manager and to your dataset's settings.
- In Events Manager, open your dataset and its Settings tab.
- Press Generate access token and copy the token.

Which Meta access token should I use?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
The one you make in your dataset's own settings, in Meta Events Manager: open your dataset, then its Settings tab, and press Generate access token. Copy the token and paste it on the Meta page in YourTracking, with the Dataset ID of that same dataset. The Meta page in YourTracking shows the way with a picture of Meta's screen. If Meta ever stops accepting your token, the Meta page says so: make a new one the same way and press Replace next to the token.
In the appStores›your store›Connectors & settings›Meta
Can my agency connect Meta for me? Do I need to be a Meta admin?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
You do not have to do it yourself. The access token is made in your dataset's Settings tab in Meta Events Manager, with Generate access token, by anyone Meta lets do that there, such as your agency if it manages your dataset. Your agency then sends you the token and the Dataset ID of that same dataset, and you paste both on your store's Meta page in YourTracking. Or make your agency a Second owner in YourTracking, so it can paste them itself: a Media buyer cannot change connections.

Meta will not connect or shows an error. What do I check?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
When you press Connect, we check your Dataset ID and token with Meta right away. If Meta refuses them, the Meta page in YourTracking shows Meta's answer. Here is what each answer means:
- Meta did not accept this token: the Dataset ID and the token must come from the same dataset. Open that dataset's Settings tab in Events Manager, press Generate access token, and paste the new token with that dataset's ID.
- This Meta dataset is already connected to another store: each store needs its own dataset. Create one in Events Manager and enter its ID.
- Set your store's own domain first: a store that has only its .myshopify.com address cannot connect Meta. Add your own domain in Shopify first.
- Meta is limiting how often we can reach it: your token is fine. Try again in a few minutes.

Which Meta access token should I use?How do I connect Meta (Facebook and Instagram)?
Do I need to set up Meta's Conversions API myself?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
No. YourTracking sends your sales to Meta through Meta's Conversions API, Meta's way of receiving sales from a server. Your Dataset ID and access token are all it needs, so there is nothing else to set up. If another app, or a Conversions API setup of your own, already sends your sales to Meta, switch it off when you connect, or Meta can count each sale twice.

Do I have to switch off my other Meta tracking?Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Yes, or Meta can count each sale twice. Switch off the data sharing of Shopify's Facebook & Instagram app (in Shopify: Sales channels, Facebook & Instagram, Settings, Data sharing settings), any other app that sends your sales to Meta, a Meta pixel you added yourself, and Meta tracking inside an outside checkout. Then tick the box on the Meta page in YourTracking and press Confirm.

Your numbers
Why your numbers differ from Google Ads and MetaGuideYour numbersYour dashboard counts Shopify's orders on the day of the sale; Google Ads and Meta count what they credit to their ads, by their own rules.
Your dashboard counts the orders Shopify recorded, on the day of the sale. Google Ads and Meta count the sales they credit to their ads, by their own rules. Each answers a different question, so they rarely match.
What your dashboard counts
The orders we tracked for your store, before refunds, with or without tax as your store's tax setting says. A day runs from midnight to midnight in your store's own time zone, which comes from Shopify.
Amounts are converted into your display currency at the European Central Bank's rate of the day they happened, or shown in each store's own currency if you choose that under Display. Google's own figures stay in the currency your Google Ads account bills in.
Why Google Ads shows something else
- The day. Google counts a sale on the day of the ad click, not the day of the sale. A sale today after a click last week is in today's numbers on your store's page, and in last week's in Google Ads.
- The delay. Google says its reports can lag up to 24 to 48 hours, so its newest days read low at first and then fill in.
- The column. Google's Conversions column counts only Primary actions (the ones Google bids on), which can be another app's. Secondary actions are under All conversions.
- A new action. A brand-new conversion action needs about 6 hours before Google accepts sales into it.
Sources: Google Ads Help, Understand your conversion tracking data; Google Ads Help, About primary and secondary conversion actions; Google Ads API documentation, Troubleshooting (conversions)
To see Google's numbers by the day of the sale, add the column All conv. value (by conv. time) in Google Ads. On your store's page, the Google card shows your Google ad spend, and the Per day card's Google Ads line shows Google Ads' own ROAS, so you can compare them with Google Ads.
Source: Google Ads Help, Understand your conversion tracking data
Why Meta shows something else
Meta credits a sale to its ads within a time window: by default up to 7 days after someone clicked an ad, or 1 day after they only viewed it. Its numbers can also include sales it estimates.
Source: Meta for Developers, Ad Account, Insights (attribution windows; modeled conversions)
On your dashboard, Meta's card shows the orders and revenue from Meta clicks, without ad spend or ROAS.
If two tools send Meta the same sale, Meta can count it twice. Connect Meta says what to switch off.
Why your channels add up to more than your revenue
One sale can count for more than one channel. Your dashboard's setting How a sale is counted is your attribution model: how a sale is shared between channels. The default is Each platform, which counts a sale for every channel whose ad was clicked before it, the way each platform counts it in its own reports. The page shows how much counts twice. Choose First click or Last click to give each sale to one channel only.
Why an ad channel can count a sale your dashboard shows without an ad
A buyer can click your ad on one device and order on another. Your dashboard then shows the order as No ad click, because the click was made elsewhere. Google Ads and Meta still get the sale, as your cookie setting allows, and decide by their own rules whether to credit it to their ad.
Refunds and cancelled orders
Your dashboard counts each order when it is placed, before refunds, and a later refund or cancellation does not take it off. We never send refunds or cancellations to your ad channels either, so a sale they received stays counted there.
Why one country's numbers differ
You can pick one country under Market at the top of your dashboard. Your revenue and orders then count only the orders shipped to that country, as Shopify counts them. Google's own figures count by country the way Google Ads reports them, so a sale such as a gift can count in two countries.

What does my dashboard show?Your numbers
Your dashboard shows your sales numbers and where they came from, for the days you pick at the top: Today, Yesterday, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, This year, Month to date, Previous month or Custom. All stores shows your stores together, and each store has its own page with the same parts:
- The channel cards: All channels, one card for each of your ad channels, Email and No ad click, each with its revenue and its share of your orders and revenue. Google's card also shows your Google ad spend and ROAS (return on ad spend). Meta's card shows the orders and revenue from Meta clicks, without ad spend or ROAS.
- How a sale is counted: whether a sale that more than one channel brought counts for each of them, or once.
- Revenue per day: a chart of your revenue, day by day.
- Beside the chart: pick a card to see its figures, such as its orders, revenue and average order value (AOV). For Google and Pinterest it also shows their clicks and the funnel from click to order: add-to-cart rate (ATCR), checkout rate (CR) and conversion rate (CVR).
- Per day: your Google ROAS, revenue, orders, eROAS or Credited by Google, day by day, with your break-even ROAS once your costs are set.
- Latest orders: your newest orders, with All orders for every order.

Why are my numbers different from Google Ads?Your numbers
Because the two count different things. Your dashboard shows the orders Shopify recorded, on the day of the sale. Google Ads shows the sales it credits to its ads, on the day of the ad click, and fills them in over a day or two. Google's Conversions column also counts only the goals Google bids on (Primary), and if you have not made ours Primary yet, those are another app's or tag's goals, not ours. On your store's page, the Google card shows your Google ad spend, and the Per day card's Google Ads line shows Google Ads' own ROAS, so you can compare them with Google Ads.
In the appStores›your store
Why are my numbers different from Meta (Facebook Ads)?Your numbers
Because Meta counts the sales and revenue it credits to its ads by its own rules: by default a sale up to 7 days after someone clicked an ad, or 1 day after they only viewed it, and its numbers can include sales it estimates. Your dashboard shows the orders your store recorded in Shopify: Meta's card there shows the orders and revenue from Meta clicks, without ad spend or ROAS. The two answer different questions, so they rarely match exactly.
What counts as revenue, and why can it differ from Shopify?Your numbers
Your store's orders, each counted on the day it was placed in your store's time zone, before refunds, with or without tax as your store's tax setting says. Shipping is included and test orders are left out. Amounts are shown in your display currency, or in each store's own currency if you choose that. Shopify's own sales reports count by their own rules, for example for refunds and tax, so to compare them with your dashboard, use the same days and the same tax choice.
Do refunds and cancelled orders still count in my numbers?Which currency are my numbers in?
Do refunds and cancelled orders still count in my numbers?Your numbers
Yes. Your dashboard counts each order when it is placed, before refunds, and a later refund or cancellation does not take it off. We never send refunds or cancellations to Google Ads, Meta or Pinterest either, so a sale they received stays counted there. To allow for your refunds, enter them with your costs under Break-even ROAS on your store's Store & costs tab: your break-even ROAS then takes them into account.
In the appStores›your store›Store & costs
What counts as revenue, and why can it differ from Shopify? How is break-even ROAS worked out?
Will I see my orders from before I installed YourTracking?Your numbers
Yes. After you install the app, we bring in your store's orders from Shopify for up to about the last 13 months, so your dashboard shows your revenue and orders for those days too. Those older orders are not linked to an ad: which ad brought a sale is known only from the day your tracking runs. Orders from before you connected your store are never billed.
How soon after I install will I see numbers? What do No ad click and Direct mean on my orders?
Which attribution model is used? Why do my channels add up to more than my revenue?Your numbers
You choose it with your dashboard's setting How a sale is counted: that is your attribution model, how a sale is shared between channels. The default is Each platform, which counts a sale for every channel whose ad was clicked before it, the way each platform counts it in its own reports. So one sale can count for more than one channel, the channels can add up to more than your revenue, and the page shows how much counts twice. Choose First click or Last click to give each sale to one channel only: the first or the last ad clicked before the sale.
What do No ad click and Direct mean on my orders?Your numbers
No ad click means the buyer did not come from an ad click before the order. They came another way: from a search, a social post that was not an ad, an email, another site, or straight to your store. Direct is the part of those where nothing says where they came from: they typed your address, used a bookmark, or opened a link in an app that passes nothing on. A buyer who clicked your ad earlier and comes back this way, or orders on another device, can also show here. On your dashboard, No ad click, by source splits these sales into Search, Social, AI, Other sites and Direct.
How is a sale linked to an ad when the buyer orders days later or on another device? What does my dashboard show?
How is a sale linked to an ad when the buyer orders days later or on another device?Your numbers
When a visitor comes from an ad, we remember that ad click. If they come back and order in the same browser, even weeks later, the order shows the ad it came from. If they clicked on one device and order on another, the order can show No ad click on your dashboard, because the click was made elsewhere. Google Ads and Meta still get the sale, as your cookie setting allows, and decide by their own rules whether to credit it to their ad. So their reports can count sales that your dashboard shows without an ad click.
What do No ad click and Direct mean on my orders? Why are my numbers different from Meta (Facebook Ads)?Does YourTracking set cookies on my store?
Do you still see sales from Safari, iPhones and ad blockers?Your numbers
Yes. Every order on your dashboard comes from Shopify itself, so it counts whatever browser, phone or ad blocker the buyer uses. We send each sale to Google Ads and Meta from our server, not from the buyer's browser, so Safari, an iPhone (iOS) or an ad blocker does not stop it. Your cookie setting still applies. You can check every order yourself under All orders, against your Shopify orders.
How is a sale linked to an ad when the buyer orders days later or on another device?Does YourTracking set cookies on my store?Should I choose Track everyone or Follow my cookie banner?
What do the two ROAS lines on the Per day card mean?Your numbers
ROAS is return on ad spend: the sales from ads divided by what the ads cost. Choose ROAS on the Per day card to see two lines on its chart. eROAS is the sales from a day's Google ad clicks, divided by that day's Google ad spend; an order that comes in later is added to the day of its click. Google Ads is what Google Ads shows for that day right now. Google keeps adding sales to a day for a day or two, so yesterday and today still read low. The Google Ads line is always Google's own number. If Google bids on another app's purchase goal instead of ours, that number counts that goal's sales, and the line's ? says so.
What is eROAS?Your numbers
eROAS is YourTracking's own ROAS for Google Ads: the sales from a day's Google ad clicks, divided by that day's Google ad spend, counted from your own orders. On the Per day card, the Google Ads line beside it is Google's own ROAS. An order that comes in later is added to the day of its ad click, so each day fills in as its orders arrive: yesterday and today are still filling in.
What does Credited by Google mean?Your numbers
It is a measure on the Per day card. We send your sales to Google Ads, and Google accepts them. Credited by Google shows how many of those accepted sales Google Ads counts as coming from its ads so far, as a share. Google says its reports can lag up to 24 to 48 hours, so the newest days read low at first and then fill in.
What counts as a Meta click?Your numbers
An order whose visit came from Facebook or Instagram with Meta's click ID, the code Meta puts in the link when someone clicks.
Which currency are my numbers in?Your numbers
You choose under Display on the dashboard. Converted shows every amount in one currency, at the European Central Bank's rate of the day it happened; hover over an amount to see the original. Each store's currency shows each store in its own currency and converts only the totals. Google's own figures stay in the currency your Google Ads account bills in.
Which time zone do my days follow?Your numbers
Your store's own time zone, which comes from Shopify when you install the app. A day runs from midnight to midnight in that time zone.
Are my sales sent with or without tax?Your numbers
As you choose. Your store has one tax setting, asked when you add the store. Google Ads and Meta get each sale with or without tax as chosen there, and your dashboard's revenue and ROAS show it the same way. Without tax is the money you keep; With tax is what your customer paid. Shipping is always included, and profit never includes tax. Pinterest always gets the amount before tax and shipping. You can change it later under Tax on your store's Connectors & settings tab.
In the appStores›your store›Connectors & settings
Does my dashboard show profit? Where do I enter my product costs?Your numbers
Your dashboard does not show profit. It shows your revenue, your Google ad spend and ROAS, and, once your costs are in, your break-even ROAS: the ROAS at which your ads neither make nor lose money. Enter your cost of goods and your other costs under Break-even ROAS on your store's Store & costs tab. These costs never change your tracking.
In the appStores›your store›Store & costs
How is break-even ROAS worked out? What does my dashboard show?
How is break-even ROAS worked out?Your numbers
Break-even ROAS is the ROAS at which your ads neither make nor lose money. We work it out each day from the costs you enter under Break-even ROAS on your store's Store & costs tab, at the rates that applied that day. Those costs are: cost of goods, refunds, chargebacks, payment fees, agency and general costs, a fee based on ad spend, a per-order fee, and Google's surcharge in the countries where it applies. Below your break-even ROAS, an ad sale costs you money. These costs never change your tracking.
In the appStores›your store›Store & costs
Why do a country's numbers differ between my store and an ad channel?Your numbers
Because they count by different things. You can pick one country under Market at the top of your dashboard. Your revenue and orders then count only the orders shipped to that country, as Shopify counts them, and the same goes for the sales from Meta clicks. Google's own figures, such as your Google ad spend, count by country the way Google Ads reports them. So a country's numbers can differ between your store and an ad channel, and a sale such as a gift can count in two countries.
Where do I see each order and where it came from?Your numbers

Open it: the step that needs you is open, with the one thing to do and its button. Problems show on your dashboard until they are fixed.

My sale is on my dashboard but not in Google Ads yet. Why?Something looks wrong
Google counts a sale on the date of the ad click, not the date of the sale, and fills in its numbers over the next day or two, so a sale can be missing from Google Ads' reports for a while. A brand-new conversion action also needs about 6 hours before Google accepts sales into it.
How can I check that tracking is working on my store?Something looks wrong
You do not have to: we watch every store, day and night. When something stops your tracking, such as a theme change that switched our app off, the store turns amber on Stores with what needs a look, and we email you the one step to take. Each new sale also shows under your latest orders as it comes in.

Until then, the Google Ads row and the Google Ads page say Reconnect.

What does connecting Klaviyo do?Klaviyo (email)
Your store's page already shows Email as a channel next to your ad channels. With your Klaviyo key, Email also counts the sales Klaviyo credits to an email or a text message, as Klaviyo shows them. Klaviyo is optional and never holds up your setup.
How do I connect Klaviyo and get the API key?Klaviyo (email)
On your store's Klaviyo page in YourTracking, in three steps. Not now leaves it for later: the page stays there.
- UTM tracking on? In Klaviyo, switch on Automatically add UTM parameters to links (UTM parameters are tags in your email links that show where a visit came from): click your account name in the bottom left, then Settings, Other, UTM tracking. Then press Yes. Klaviyo adds them to new campaigns and flow messages.
- Private API key: in Klaviyo, click your organization name in the bottom left, then Settings, API keys and Create Private API Key. Name it YourTracking, choose read-only under Select Access Level and press Create. Copy the key, paste it and press Next.
- Save and test: press it; the step then says Saved and tested.

Where do I see my email numbers?Klaviyo (email)
On your store's page: Email is a channel there, like Google and Meta, with the orders and revenue of the sales that had an email or a text message before them. Klaviyo's own campaign and flow numbers stay in Klaviyo.
Does YourTracking change anything in my Klaviyo account?Klaviyo (email)
No. The key only needs read access, and we send nothing to Klaviyo.
How do I disconnect Klaviyo?Klaviyo (email)
On your store's Klaviyo page in YourTracking, press Disconnect under the steps, tick the box and press Disconnect. This removes the Klaviyo connection for this store. Your tracking itself is not affected.

Remove a storeGuideAccount and teamRemove one store from YourTracking, uninstall the app in Shopify, and know when its data is deleted.
Removing a store stops its tracking at once and takes it off your dashboards. Its data is deleted on the date the page shows. Only an owner can remove a store.
Remove it in three steps
- Open the store's page in YourTracking, then its Store & costs tab.
- Press Remove store at the bottom of the tab. The page shows the date the store's data is deleted.
- In that store's Shopify admin, uninstall the YourTracking app: Settings, Apps, the app's menu, Uninstall.
Source: Shopify Help Center, Uninstalling apps
Tracking stops and the store leaves your dashboards at once. Deleted data cannot be brought back.
If the app was uninstalled first
Tracking stops: nothing comes in while the app is not installed, and your store's page says so. To carry on instead, install it again with Install app on your store's Shopify page in YourTracking.
Selling the store
Remove the YourTracking app in Shopify, or use Remove store in YourTracking. The buyer then installs YourTracking from Shopify and starts, with their own Google Ads and Meta. Nothing of your history goes to them.
Closing your whole organization
An owner opens Account, Organizations and presses Close it. Then you choose: keep tracking until your next billing day (or the end of your free trial), or stop everything now. Closing deletes all the organization's data when tracking stops: on that billing day, or at once if you stop everything now. If a bill is unpaid, pay it first; then you can close.

How do I invite a teammate?Account and team
Open Account, then Team, and use Invite someone: enter their email, choose a role and the stores they may see, and press Send invite. The invite works for 7 days and only for that email. They set their own password and sign in with their own login, on their own computer or phone, so nobody shares a password.

What can each role do?Account and team
There are three roles. An Owner and a Second owner can do everything, with four things only an owner can do: close the organization, remove a store, move a store to another organization, and change who is an owner. A Media buyer, such as your agency, sees tracking, ad results and product revenue, and can read a channel's profit costs but not change them; they cannot change settings or connections. A media buyer does not see the Billing, Team or Alerts tabs of the Account page, so not your card or your invoices either. You can limit a media buyer to some of your stores.
How do I give my agency access without sharing my password?Account and team
Invite them as a teammate with the Media buyer role: they get their own login, so you never share yours. Open Account, then Team, use Invite someone, enter their email, choose Media buyer and the stores they may see, and press Send invite. A media buyer sees tracking, ad results and product revenue, but cannot change settings or connections. An owner can end their access on the same tab at any time.

How do I turn on two-step sign-in?Account and team
Two-step sign-in asks for a code from your phone every time you sign in, on top of your password. It is your choice. You need an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
- Open Account and find Two-step sign-in. Press Turn on, then Show the code to scan.
- Scan the code with the app, or type the key shown next to it.
- Type the 6-digit code from the app and press Turn on. Other devices signed in to your login are then signed out.
- Save the 10 recovery codes it shows: each one signs you in once if you lose your phone. They are shown only this once.

Which emails do you send me, and to which address?Account and team
Emails about problems and billing always come: you cannot switch them off. Emails about milestones, such as your first sale delivered, you can switch off under Account, Alerts. They go to the address your Account page shows under Emails go to: your organization owner's confirmed email. On the Alerts tab you can also get alerts in Slack, Discord or ntfy.

Can I ask Claude or another AI about my numbers?Account and team
Yes. Open Account, then AI keys, choose how long the key works and press Make a key. It asks for your password and shows the key once. Add it to Claude, Cursor or Claude Code as the tab shows, or use it in a sheet or a script. A key only reads the same numbers as your dashboard, never more than you can see yourself. You can turn it off on the same tab at any time.

Privacy and cookies
Should I choose Track everyone or Follow my cookie banner?Privacy and cookies
It is your choice, and so is whether it fits the laws where you sell; if you are not sure, ask your own adviser. Track everyone (the default) sends every sale in full, whatever the visitor chose in your cookie banner, and you confirm you have the right to do this. Follow my cookie banner follows each visitor's choice: a visitor who rejects cookies or never answers is not sent to Meta, and goes to Google without personal details.

How does YourTracking handle Google Consent Mode v2?Privacy and cookies
With Follow my cookie banner, each sale we send to Google carries the visitor's choice from your cookie banner. A visitor who said no goes to Google marked as not consenting and without personal details, and is not sent to Meta. With Track everyone, every sale goes to Google marked as consenting, as you confirmed you have the right to do. There is nothing else to set up in YourTracking: it follows your cookie setting, as long as your banner reports into Shopify's customer privacy settings.

Can I change my cookie setting later?Privacy and cookies
Yes. On your store's Connectors & settings tab, under Cookie banner, pick the other choice and press Save. It applies from that moment; sales already sent do not change. Google and Meta may report and bid a little differently for a week or two.

Is YourTracking GDPR compliant? Which customer data do you keep?Privacy and cookies
We process your customers' data only for you and on your instructions, under our Data Processing Agreement. It is part of the Terms, so it applies from the day you sign up. In the GDPR's words, you are the controller (you decide what is done with your customers' data) and we are your processor (we process it for you). Whether your own store follows the GDPR, such as your cookie banner and your privacy policy, is yours to check; ask your own adviser if you are not sure. We process each order (its number, value and time), the ad click it came from, and, where your settings allow it, the details a buyer enters at checkout, such as email, phone, name and address. Personal details are hashed (turned into a code that cannot be read back) before they go to Google and Meta, except the few a platform needs as they are, such as the postal code and country for Google. Your data is hosted in the European Union, and we never sell it. It is deleted when you remove a store or close your organization. Every detail is in the Privacy policy.
What happens to my data when I remove a store or close my organization?Should I choose Track everyone or Follow my cookie banner?Where are the Terms, the Privacy policy and the Data Processing Agreement?
What happens to my data when I remove a store or close my organization?Privacy and cookies
A removed store stops tracking at once, and its data is deleted on the date shown when you remove it. Closing your organization deletes all its data when tracking stops: on your next billing day (or at the end of your free trial), or at once if you stop everything now. Deleted data cannot be brought back.
Where are the Terms, the Privacy policy and the Data Processing Agreement?Privacy and cookies
Each is on its own public page, linked below, with the list of sub-processors (the companies that process data for us). The Data Processing Agreement covers how we process personal data for you, and it is part of the Terms.
