Disconnect removes the key and the data read with it for this store. Your tracking itself is not affected.
What you see in YourTracking
The Klaviyo row in your store's settings is marked Optional and opens the store's own Klaviyo page: one field for the key, Save and Not now. Once the key is in, the page says Klaviyo is connected, with the date.

Set up in two steps

Make a read-only key in Klaviyo
In Klaviyo, open Settings, then API keys, and press Create Private API Key. Name it YourTracking, choose Read-only and press Create. Copy the key: Klaviyo shows it only once. Only an Owner or Admin in Klaviyo can make one.

Paste it in YourTracking
In your store's settings, open the Klaviyo row, paste the key under Private API key and press Save. Not now leaves it for later: the Klaviyo page is always there.
For a new store, the Shopify steps come first, and the Klaviyo page says so until they are done.

Do I need Klaviyo to use YourTracking?

Does YourTracking change anything in my Klaviyo account?
No. The key only needs read access, and nothing in your Klaviyo account changes.
Where do I see my email numbers?
In Klaviyo. Your email numbers are not on your YourTracking dashboard: your Klaviyo key works in the background for your tracking.
How do I remove my Klaviyo key?
Open your store's Klaviyo page, then Manage, Disconnect, tick the box and press Disconnect Klaviyo. It removes the key and the data read with it for this store, and your tracking itself is not affected.
